UNCOMFORTABLE

Uncomfortable takes shape at the moment a surface stops being empty. The first mark introduces judgement, and with it the need to continue. From there, painting advances through decision and restraint, where doing too much risks collapse and doing nothing is no longer possible.

Just like a blank canvas. As long as it stays blank, there is nothing to judge. And then the first shape appears, and this is how discomfort is born.
